Nicky Barneby is a graphic designer, specialising in illustrated book design and typography.

 

Over three decades she has designed books for leading publishers, including Penguin Random House, Hodder & Stoughton, Harper Collins, Hardie Grant and Profile Books, as well as working with research organisations such as the Wyss Academy for Nature, ODI Global and the University of Edinburgh Business School.

 

Nicky combines considered, carefully crafted typography with technical expertise to deliver creative and effective solutions. She is collaborative and editorially-minded, ensuring that her approach to each project’s brief is thoughtful, sympathetic and always unique in its vision.

 

Working internationally, the spectrum of Nicky’s projects includes designing cookery and lifestyle books, fiction and literary non-fiction text design and typesetting, series styles and design templates, map illustration and data visualisation, art direction of illustration and photography.
